The Nordic Systems Engineering Boat Seminar 2000, 25-26.10

FINSE, the Finnish Chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), has the great pleasure to invite You to the Nordic Systems Engineering Boat Seminar 2000.
The seminar is to be held at Silja Symphony cruise between Helsinki and Stockholm.
The dates when departing from Helsinki are 24-26 October, and from Stockholm 25-27 October 2000.
You will hear and meet highly professional experts such as:
  • Dr Richard Stevens, Good Fellow of INCOSE 1998. Richard is Chief Technical Officer for QSS Inc, specialising in requirements management and systems engineering work. He is responsible for innovation and methods within QSS, and has written and given a variety of courses on systems, software and requirements engineering. Previous experience includes the European Space Agency, and an author of the Agency's software standards.
  • Dr Dinesh Verma received the Ph.D. and the M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is now the Systems and Supportability Strategist at Lockheed Martin Undersea Systems, in Manassas, Virginia, where his duties include the development of adapted systems and supportability engineering processes, methods and tools for COTS intensive complex system development. Dr. Verma serves on the Lockheed Martin Systems Engineering Sub-Council and is also a Distinguished Service Associate Professor at the Stevens Institute of Technology in the United States. He is an active member in INCOSE, ASQ, and SOLE, and was elected to Sigma Xi, the honorary research society of America.
  • Professor Ken Jackson, Principal Consultant at QSS Inc. Ken is specialising in enabling industrial clients to establish improved requirements management capability, both for the processes and the information to be gathered. Ken has had over three decades of experience on complex systems, often those with complex real-time software. He is a founder member of both the IEEE Technical Committee on the Engineering of Computer Based Systems and the UK Chapter of INCOSE. He was one of the developers of the MASCOT methodology. Ken is visiting professor at the University of Ulster.
You will also hear presentations by Nokia, the University of Linköping, and the Swedish Defense Forces, as well as by representatives for Bluetooth and the International Council on Systems Engineering.
The goal of this interactive seminar is to focus on the SE process, methods and implementation and evaluation of tools. And of course you will find yourself with like-minded people from the Nordic Countries.
