Osmo Vikman is currently working in the Nokia Research
Center, Software Technology laboratory, SPI-group in Helsinki, Finland as an
R&D Manager. His group is focusing on systems engineering and
requirements/change/compatibility management in large telecommunications system
product programs. He received his master's degree in electronics engineering in
1973 from the Tampere University of Technology, Finland. Prior to joining Nokia
Telecommunications in the beginning of 1991 he had worked in several finnish software/system
development companies as a programmer, systems analyst, project manager and
consultant.
At Nokia Telecommunications he worked for seven years
in various telecommunications R&D-projects as an engineering manager and
senior technical consultant. In March 1998, he joined Nokia Research Center,
Software Technology Laboratory, where he is currently in charge of the Systems
Engineering and Requirements Engineering research in the SPI-group. Prior to
joining Nokia, he had also contributed to various international standardization
workgroups and to a broadband ISDN research project in the RACE-program in 1989
– 1990.
